All of our Boulder opals are hand crafted originals. We cut and polish the opals in our own workshop. No two opals are identical so it is not possible to order multiples of the same stone. When you order an opal from our store you get the actual opal that is pictured. All of the pendants have a hole drilled with a diamond core drill. The hole is either drilled through the front of the pendant, or if the opal pendant is wide enough it is drilled sideways through the stone (a "sidey"). The opal is then strung onto a high quality leather thong that is tied so that that it is adjustable. The opals with the sideways holes are generally too small to pass a chain through. However if you have a fine chain with links of approximately 2mm and can get a jeweller to remove the catch it may be possible to use it. Contact us prior to purchasing so that we can see if the stone is suitable for an enlarged hole. The holes through the front of the opal can be fitted with a bail that will cover the hole and has a large enough hole to allow for attaching of most chains. The side strung opal pendants can be set like a normal opal into silver or gold if you prefer as the hole is not visible from the front and would be covered by a setting. Sub Categories
