Koroit Nut Opal   Origin Koroit,  Queensland Australia Opal Type Solid Opal Type 3 (Matrix  Opal) Approximate Size 1  11/16" x 15/16" x 3/16" (42mm x 24mm x 5mm) Colour & Description Koroit Nut matrix opal. The inside of the nut shows a centre of green and red opal seams in a matrix of silicated sandstone and ironstone. The outside of the nut has been cut to follow its natural undulating surface. The outside shows brilliant electric green-blue-red  pinfire sparkles against a very dark ironstone background. No pits or flaws in this stone and it has a very high polish.
