Koroit Matrix Opal   Origin Koroit,  Queensland Australia Opal Type Solid Opal Type 3 (Matrix Opal) Approximate Size 1  1/16" x 13/16" x 3/16" (28mm x 20mm x 5mm) Colour & Description Koroit ironstone matrix opal.  A matrix of "brick red"  and dark brown ironstone with intricate patterns and sparkles of blue and green opal. Both sides of the stone show good colour and polish. There is some shallow pitting on both sides that is normal for this type of opal and does not affect its stability.
