OPAL DESCRIPTION FRONT Origin: Koroit,  Queensland Australia Opal Type: Solid Opal Type 3  (Matrix  Opal) Approximate Size: 1  9/16" x 1  3/16" x 3/16" (40mm x 30mm x 5mm) Colour & Description: Seams and sparkles of pale blue and  green opal with some red sparkles in a  dark brown ironstone and silicated clay matrix with a red ironstone centre. Excellent colour on both sides of the stone. Transparency: Opaque Flaws: Some very shallow undercutting in the softer  (white) clay areas. A few fine fractures in the opal layer not extending into the ironstone. This is normal for this type of opal and does not affect its stability.
